Welcome To Agape Computers 4 Kids
Welcome to Computers for Kids , a project of Agape Image, James E. Jones Jr. of Bibleway, along with the help of Housing Opportunities Unlimited and Autumn Woods Apts. Our mission is to enable families with school-age children to aquire a computer for their home by recycling personal PCs or reparing the one in the home. We currently serve Baltimore and Bladensburg, MD.
COMPUTERS FOR KIDS, Bridge the technology gap

Computer recycling benefits many refurbished PCs and bridges the technology gap to promote learning in the home. Refurbishing donated computers for lower-income families with school-age children is one direct approach to bridge the technology gap -- helping lower-income folks catch up with the technology resources middle- and upper-income families provide their school children. This is critically important and is the basic reason we founded Computers For Kids. Computers For Kids also appeals to people on two other levels -- promoting learning in the home, and recycling computers back into the community rather than dumping them in landfills. The common sense idea that computer ownership is closely related to income -- the technology gap -- is supported by research from Market Intelligence. In 1998 approximately 80 percent of homes with incomes above (80,500.) had a computer, while only 25 percent of homes with incomes of (25,500.) or less had a computer. The technology gap is crucial because computing skills are a basic staple of higher education and the workplace.

Some Goals
Providing every student the opportunity to learn marketable computer skills would be a major step toward achievment. Students who lack computer skills will face limited career options. Those graduates who have computer competence will be more employable, better prepared for college, and strengthened to face the demands of a technological society.

Here Is How You Can Support Computers For Kids
The project accepts PCs and Macintosh computers, modems, monitors, printers. At this time we are in need of PC donations, we are only accepting working ' Pentium-based PCs. Working peripherals and components are also greatly appreciated -- hard disks, RAM, VGA monitors, keyboards, computer mice, etc.

Computers For Kids Mission Summary
Computers For Kids empowers lower-income families with school-age children to acquire home computers. Recycling pre-owned computers, leveraging volunteers, tapping reseller discounts for parts and upgrades, and raising other funds enables Computers For Kids to deliver systems inexpensively. Hands-On, Family-Based Learning
It is axiomatic that everyone learns better with hands-on experience, and that school children learn best when adults at home are involved in the student`s education. By economically refurbishing and delivering computers, lower-income families have home access to technology resources that would otherwise be unobtainable. Those resources are leveraged at many levels benefiting school kids, siblings, and adults. Oldies But Goodies.
With the help of God we can do all things.......
